Matthew 5:1-12
I would ask you this morning to read Friday's post, "The Kingdom is Here." Once you have read that, then click the above link and read our passage this morning, otherwise known as the Beatitudes.
Jesus came announcing that "the Kingdom of heaven is at hand." The Beatitudes begin to key us in on Kingdom living. It is enough to prayerfully read them, take them in, and meditate on them throughout the day.
The rest of this week we will listen to Jesus' teaching of the Kingdom life in His Sermon on the Mount. As I mentioned yesterday, the Christian life is much more than just merely being "forgiven"; the Kingdom life is abundant life. It is daily living with our Savior. It is life that sows eternal produce. It is life worth living. It is much more than just church attendance.
Let's try to catch a glimpse of it today.
