Please read what Rick Thompson wrote about the "Memphis Declaration." You'll find it here. I was asked to be a part of this declaration, and agreed to join them for this reason: there is a necessity for change in the SBC if we are to continue labeling ourselves as such. No longer can we stand back and let a few represent our denomination and lead us in a direction we (1) do not agree with, (2) that is unbiblical, and (3) that causes more division than cooperation.
